Rental conditions

In most countries you must be at least 21 years of age. You will need to present a driving licence in your name, issued by your country of residence. Europcar require that a valid driving licence has been held for at least 1 year. An identification document, such as passport, and credit card are also required. Driving licence and passport will be requested to additional drivers. Only authorized drivers, who are detailed on the rental agreement may drive the car. When reserving your car, please be informed about more details. Completing your rental in a different town/airport may be permitted for a small fee depending on the country and Europcar location. When ordering please contact the Europcar station for further information.

If you use a Europcar prepaid voucher (with specified value or the mention Group Days apply), you must also present a credit card for the charges, which have not been prepaid (extras, refuelling charge, excess due in case of damage to or loss of the rented vehicle). This amount is approx. 270 EUR.

Europcar accepts the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa. At certain locations for luxury models a second credit card may be also required. Cardholder must be physically present in order to sign the rental agreement. Cash payment of the completed rental charges once the vehicle is returned is acceptable in most locations. Certain credit cards may entitle their holders to a degree of cover for damage to, or loss of, the rental vehicle. Europcar advise you to contact your Credit Card organisation before rental.

International driving permit

Your driving licence (issued in Hungary) will be honoured in most countries e.g. European Union. Europcar recommends you carry an International Driving Permit, when your driving licence is in different languages or particularly in languages using different alphabet structures.

Caution

At the beginning of the rental caution must be paid by credit card, which is different at all categories.

Pick-up of your rental vehicle

Please check that the vehicle conditions written on the vehicle statement are correct and if an apparent defect not listed is noticed when examining the vehicle, please notify a Europcar employee. Before leaving Europcar station please check that the rented car is delivered with full tank of petrol.

Look into your map especially you are leaving the airport or downtown. If you need help (searching for direction, asking for detailed demonstration of the rented car etc.) Europcar employees are at your disposal. Check you have all items of your luggage, and that you feel not tired in advance of your journey. On your travels pay careful attention to never leave unattended the rented car keys and documents in the car, on a desk or table, never leave your valuables in visible place after closing the car.
